I would highly recommend Derek. He’s such a lovely guy, so friendly and easy to talk to even when we had him up a ladder to take an amazing photo of all our family with us !!!Our photos as amazing really captured the day and gave us lovely memories for us to look back on.
Love the little box with our memory stick in which is a lovely way to keep them.

As Mother of the Bride (Sophie and Chris’s Wedding) I would just like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ for your hard work in the time running up to the Wedding, on the day (you were amazing) and compiling the photographs for us all. Your attention to detail and eye for a great and relaxed shot is outstanding. I spent hours and hours researching Wedding Photographers only to find a number of very ‘run of the mill’ individuals. Am I glad that I continued on to find you. We will recommend you to all our friends and are looking forward to asking you to cover another family session to update our extended family album. Once again, thank you so much.

“Derek was very professional yet relaxed and he captured some beautiful shots of my Cat Tabi. She has very distinctive markings and Derek’s work really highlights her pretty coat. The prints are a lasting momento that I will treasure forever, and I can’t wait to frame them. Thank you Derek!” – October 2014

“Derek is not only a talented, local photographer, producing high quality pictures, but he is also great to work with. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to others  for future projects – you certainly won’t be disappointed with the results.”

 Hi Derek
We received the photos today and we are blown away by them, we wanted to catch the action and emotion of the Open Day and the machinery in operation and with the minimal of brief  and minimal fuss you have captured it perfectly! It is going to make a huge difference to our website! We will be back to you later in the spring to go and photograph some of our installations.

          Many thanks

Before I went to that great journalists’ scrapheap in the sky, I was in newspapers for 40 years. Now semi-retired, I can look back at the dozens of snappers I worked with over the years and say hand on heart that Derek Pelling is one of the finest photographers I have ever worked with. During my five years as deputy editor of The Bucks Herald, I was impressed by Derek’s relentlessly high standards, his professionalism and enthusiasm for the job and undoubted creative skills. When I looked through contact sheets after Derek had been out on a job, I soon found that it wasn’t a question of finding a good photograph – all the pictures were spot on and the hard job was finding which ones to discard. As you can imagine on a fast-moving regional newspaper, Derek worked hard at battling through a seemingly endless list of daily tasks and took the rough with the smooth with demanding weekend work, too. When it came to dealing with difficult jobs, he had the professional touch to pull it off without upsetting anyone and he was as at home dealing with children and families (often the bread and butter of our profession) as the emergency services and personnel at serious crime scenes. Many of Derek’s family pictures are refreshingly charming and display his sure human touch and feel for a job. But I am equally impressed by his sports pictures (often the hardest to capture), commerce, wildlife, countryside and so much more. Perhaps most importantly, Derek is a dedicated, determined self-starter and is very well organised. I can recommend his services unreservedly and have written this unsolicited piece simply because I believe he deserves recognition and success now that he has gone it alone. True talent and hard work is always a winning combination –
